EU member states have made a major decision on domestic sales and imports. The importation and domestic sale of products produced by clearing forests will be completely banned in EU countries after December 31, 2024. It seems that coffee exports from India will be affected to a large extent due to this. Therefore, many companies have started purchasing large quantities of coffee from India and stockpiling it. Apart from coffee, Indian companies that export rubber, wood products, various types of agricultural products and food products are likely to be affected. Export of such products to EU allied countries requires special certification. Full details of the certification are available on the SGS website.
