We import large quantities of apples from USA, Netherlands and Turkey.
Some studies suggest that the wax coating on such imported apples is against Indian food standards.
Even India allows some food grade wax coatings like beeswax coating is permissible.
When we import apples from foreign countries it is better to get wax coating quality certificate and import. Otherwise our imported apples will be destroyed by the Indian food quality control authorities.
