When the exporters apply with proper document along with certification from an auditor, the central government will consider the application and grant star status to those particular exporter.
By obtaining this star status, delays in the export process at the port are largely avoided.
Bank guarantee is mandatory for certain export and import transactions. Star status exporters are exempted from this. Many such benefits are available to Star status exporters.
The central government has informed that the application for getting this star status will no longer be received directly or online. As all the export and import processes of every exporter have been digitized, the central government will directly award Star status to eligible companies, it said.
Since it is completely digital based process there is no chance of mistakes. And the exporter is not required to make a separate application for this.
