Countries craving for Indian products

Countries craving for Indian products

The Indian government has imposed export restrictions and bans on various products due to reduced domestic production.

Despite such a ban, many countries procure banned or restricted goods directly from the Indian government.

The Indian government imposed a ban on the export of wheat.  A few countries, including Bhutan, bought wheat from India.

Quota system was introduced for sugar export.  Many countries have demanded Indian sugar from the government.

A ban on the export of rice and an export tax were imposed.  Many countries, including Malaysia and the United States, demanded rice from India.  The Indian government has also sent rice to a few countries.

Onion exports were taxed.  The Government of Bangladesh is directly purchasing onion from the Government of India for its needs.

The World Trade Organisation is also pressuring India not to impose export tariffs on such food products.
