Abolition of Onion Export Duty.
A 40 per cent duty was levied on exports due to high domestic onion prices and low yields.
Onion traders in Nashik are protesting against this.
In this case, the export duty on Bengaluru Rose Onion has been removed.
Onion cultivation in Karnataka has increased by 65 per cent and only rose onion has been exempted from this duty.
These onions are exported in large quantities to various countries but a large number of local people do not like to buy them in India.
This duty exemption is good news for exporters.
