Mango Exports - West Bengal on the rise.
West Bengal is one of the lateest exporters of mangoes in India. Export of mangoes will start here only in June. Mango production in Malta district last year was 3.7 lakh tonnes. This year it has gone up to 9 lakh tonnes. So far 4 lakh tonnes of mangoes have been exported from Malta district to the Middle East and European countries. Apart from this another six districts produce and export mangoes.
