Importers looking for alternatives due to sugar export restrictions.
The Indian government has imposed restrictions on sugar exports since last year. That restriction continues this year as well. This year, only 6.1 million tonnes of sugar can be exported. Currently there are trade inquiries for sugar export from many countries in the world. India's ban on sugar exports has boosted global sugar prices. As a result, before ban, the sugar exporters saw an extra profit of 50 thousand rupees per ton of sugar than usual. We are mostly exporting to Indonesia, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Sudan, Somalia & UAE. Due to the current restrictions, importers in this country have decided to import sugar from countries like Brazil.
