Import Ban - Announced by Central Govt
The central government suddenly announced an import ban.
We import apples from various countries.
As such imported apples are priced lower than domestically grown apples, local traders suffer.
Therefore, the central government has imposed this ban to protect domestic traders & farmers.
Accordingly, the CIF price of imported apples should not be less than fifty rupees.
The statement said that it should be fifty rupees or more.
Only Bhutan is exempted from this ban. That means there is no restriction on us importing apples from Bhutan which cost less than fifty rupees.
