The central government has imposed an export tax on some non-basmati rice varieties exports.
Export of 100% broken rice is prohibited.
Despite all these we are making rice export very profitable.
We exported non-basmati rice to Bangladesh and China worth $6.35 billion last year.
The previous year our exports were 6.12 billion dollars.
We have exported 1.55 million tonnes to Benin.
We have exported 1.33 million tonnes to Senegal.
We have exported one million tonnes to Togo.
We have exported 0.84 million tonnes to Bangladesh.
We have exported 0.76 million tonnes to Nepal.
We have exported 0.64 million tonnes to Vietnam.
Our overall export during 2021-22 is 22 million tonnes. During this period our exports were valued at 10 billion dollars.
In 22-23 we have exported the same amount but the value is 11 billion dollars.
