Restrictions on the export of rice to European countries have been eased.

On August 14 last year, a restriction was imposed on the export of rice to European Union countries after obtaining a certificate from the Export Inspection Agency.
This restriction applies to both basmati and non-basmati rice.
Except United Kingdom, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland other EU countries are exempted from this certification for the next six months.
