Opportunities for export of wheat flour.
Export of wheat has been banned in India.
But there is no restriction on import of wheat and its value addition into wheat flour and export.
The central government has announced a scheme called Advance Authorization Scheme to get full import duty exemption for such imported wheat.
Accordingly, one kg of wheat flour should be exported for every 1.070 kg of wheat imported.
Thus when wheat flour is exported, fenugreek powder, soya flour, oat meal, vitamins etc. added to it should be procured locally and must not be imported.
An important condition is that wheat flour exported should contain 80 percent whole wheat flour.
Full import duty exemption is available for import of wheat when the above conditions are met.
