Attempt to double mango export.
Kolkata-based State Department of Processed Foods and Horticulture has attempted to double the varieties that can be part of mango exports this year.
Last year 34 varieties were exported.
This year it is estimated to be 75.
Efforts have been made to increase exports to Qatar, Bahrain and some Middle East countries.
This year's mango harvest is expected to be four lakh tonnes.
