Amazon has taken steps to push its company deeper into India, the world's second most populous country. A recent example is the opening of farmers' markets in North India. In Tamil Nadu "Ulavar Santhai" is a service run by the Government of Tamil Nadu on a non-profit basis for the benefit of the people and farmers.
It would be surprising to us that such a service would be provided by a corporate company. There is definitely a business motive behind this service. But we should definitely thank Amazon for providing such a service.
Through this farmers market, farmers can sell their produce directly to the public.
Farmers who sell produce here will be trained to sell their produce through Amazon across India.
In addition to this, the public who come to buy products have been arranged to buy many products that are not available in the market through the Amazon website. With this move, Amazon leverages both sellers and customers to grow their business.
