APEDA Suspended 5 laboratories

APEDA has suspended five organic certification agencies in India for one year.

This action has been taken on the instructions of the European Union countries.

The products certified by these five laboratories were exported to Europe.

The food was found to be high in a chemical called ethylene oxide.

The EU also suspected that forged certificates may have been issued subject to EU food quality control regulations.

Accordingly, the following companies are barred from issuing organic certificates for a period of one year, including fines.

EU inspections India private limited
ECOCERT India private limited
Indian organic certification agency
OneCert International private limited
Aditi organic certification private limited.
