Challenges Facing Export of Engineering Materials.
The city of Coimbatore exports a wide variety of engineering products to various parts of the world.
A wide variety of products are exported from here, from ordinary nails to large machines.
Currently, there is a severe shortage of containers at the ports in India.
Sea ports like Kochi, Thoothukudi and Chennai and airports like Kochi and Chennai are heavily stocked.
It is still delayed due to shortage of manpower in the freight section of the airport.
This is a huge challenge for exports.
The Coimbatore Engineering Products Exporters Association has made a request to the Central Government.
It has been stated that if the government is willing to subsidize the production of containers as there is a shortage of containers across the country then we are massively producing containers.
It is hoped that the shortage will be rectified soon enough in the context of the federal government approving this request.
