Castor oil is exported from India to various countries.

Last year we exported $ 846 million worth of castor oil to countries such as China, the Netherlands, France, the United States, Thailand, Japan, Korea and the United Kingdom.

China is one of the largest importers of castor oil from us.

Many countries import castor oil from India for industrial use and for the manufacture of food and cosmetics.

China imports not only castor oil but also castor, its raw material.

Castor oil exporters have suggested that China, which imports like this, could in the future manufacture and export castor oil and become a competitor to ourselves.

They have therefore demanded that the Central Government impose an immediate ban on the export of castor.
