Onion production in India is often affected due to the monsoon.
Thus increasing the price of onions.
For some time onion exports are thus suspended.
Such suspensions of onion exports have been frequent recently.
Many countries in the world also rely on Indian onions.
Many countries are trying to capture the Indian onion export market whenever onion exports are banned.
The federal government has now made a decision to prevent this.
Currently the major onion growing states are Karnataka, Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh.
The Central Government has ordered the cultivation of export quality onions in an area of about 9,900 hectares in 5 new states.
They are Rajasthan, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat respectively.
In the future when onions are cultivated in these states, the yield will be less in one place but in another place it will be abundant.
The price will be balanced.
Exports will not be banned.
