New country interested in buying Indian mangoes.
Geographical identification has been obtained for Panganapalli mango which can be produced in Andhra Pradesh.
Due to this a lot of companies are interested in buying this particular mango variety from South Korea.
About 2.5 tonnes of Panganapalli mangoes were first exported to South Korea.
The Andhra Pradesh government has said that the export of Panganapalli mangoes will be 66 tonnes this year.
Not only this but various other varieties have been exported 26 tons so far.
Countries like New Zealand, Germany, England and Ireland have bought non-Panganapalli mangoes from Andhra Pradesh.
The Andhra Pradesh government has said that exports of non-Panganapalli varieties will be around 300 tonnes.
Last year, exports of non-Panganapalli varieties were only 60 tonnes.
Despite the pandemic this year, the export target has been set at about 300 tonnes, properly planned.
